My story
Art was always an interest of mine early on, from painting huge colourful murals with my younger brother on our family home passage walls (with permission from our parents) to re-creating my own skateboard stickers and covering my board with them along with fluro ‘Poska’ pen art, mainly in type form. Our family beach holidays would often be spent drawing with my Dad in-between catching waves.
This was all a great freedom of expression for me and my interest in visual art continued in parallel with other creative interests such as music. From there, music and art remained a large interest throughout my adolescent years and Graphic Communication studies at school lead me down a career path in Graphic Design.
Having always had an appreciation for aesthetically pleasing design, I began to appreciate the importance of empathy and who I was designing for more and more. My journey continued into digital design and the exciting new world of designing digital products, especially mobile, helped propel my interest and enthusiasm.
While visual design has been a big part of my journey, I have also developed a great interest in how humans interact with digital products. I love crafting and improving products so that people can interact with them naturally and effortlessly. Enabling users tasks to be easily accomplished.
Helping to create intuitive and enjoyable digital human interactions is where I’ve been excited to be these past 6+ years. Continuing on this evolving journey within the digital design space is just as thrilling.
